Our school is situated in Scerni, part of Casalbordino District. Scerni is a little village, situated about 20 km from Adriatic Sea. It’s on a hill of 275 m above the sea level. In Our school there are 565 pupils aged 3 to 14 years.
All the families are well-off, people work on factory and on farming.
In the past years, our students made many projects about pollution and works with recyclable materials, so they can spread their knowledge for a clean planet more efficiently than anybody else. It’ s important to know environmental problems, because now every society is involved, as globalization continues and the earth's natural processes transform local problems into international issues.
Then, we believe that school is the means to involve students and other people in such important issues; first of all the families, then all the local community, through communications, exhibitions and other kinds of works. Moreover, school can create an environmental conscience in children, and encourage them to behave in a more "eco-friendly" way, both when they are still young, and, then, when they grow up.
So we think it’s necessary to share our experience with our partners to contribute to solve, in part, environmental problems.
